Joseph William Carey 1859-1937.Illustrator; seascape and Landscape artist born Belfast .In 1893 Carey showed his first work at the Watercolour Society of Ireland Exhibition and ended up contributing a total of 70 pictures over the years.Joseph was an active member of the Belfast Art Society and later became an Academician of the Ulster Academy of Arts.’Dunluce Castle,County Antrim,Northern Ireland,signed watercolour dated 1905 and inscribed ‘Dunluce 1550’ image size 27x34cms,framed size 44x51.5 cms.This fine watercolour by a much collected artist is housed in its superb original inlaid wood frame.Dunluce Castle is a noted landmark having recently featured in the acclaimed ‘Game of Thrones ‘ drama production
