I specialise in affordable original artworks - mainly traditional watercolours and oil paintings but I also have a range of contemporary artworks including limited edition lithographic prints. I also stock a limited selection of antiques and collectables, including treen, ceramics and glass. I have now opened a shop at 26 High St Wallingford (OX100BU) between Reading and Oxford, but I also trade online. Description
Of local interest! Joseph Winkelman was born in Iowa in 1941, but later came to live in Oxford. He studied fine art at Ruskin School of Drawing in the late 60s and specialised in intaglio printmaking from 1975. He was President of the Royal Institute of Painters and Printmakers from 1989-1995.
This striking piece is a limited edition etching no.93/150, signed lower right and dated 1984. The path and piles of snow lead one's attention past the wonderful tree to the hills beyond and the clouds which remind one of a mountain range!
