Kathleen Caddick: Etching of a Bouquet of Dried Flowers

Better known for her beautiful etchings of the Berkshire countryside, Kathleen Caddick is also very good at still life! This is a limited edition etching entitled "Garden Bouquet" and is one of three different garden bouquets we currently have in stock. They would make a lovely trio. This one is of star shaped flowers and dried herbaceous plants (which we can't identify!) in muted autumnal colours. Signed by the artist in pencil and numbered 122/150. Born 1937 in Liverpool, Caddick spent her childhood in Buckinghamshire, where she is said to have been inspired by the beechwoods and distant views offered by the Chilterns. She studied at High Wycombe College of Art. Later she became a freelance designer and art teacher and then ran a graphics design studio. She started painting full time in 1968 and etching from 1976.
