Large Antique French Bronze Cage Chandelier c.1880

Large antique French bronze cage chandelier. This exquisite heavy bronze dark framed chandelier has a lovely patina. The top coronet has a row of protruding leaves each holding a large French slab drop, the next level of crystals is a row of unusual pretty crystals held by protruding leaves, the central body is a mass of decorative bronze leaf arms issuing into a moulded decorative central boss. The arms each hold a bronze bobeche drip pan which are delicately decorated with small leaves along with a candle holder with a leaf design and hold large French slab drops. The chandelier is heavily dressed with good quality wonderful crystals of different designs, French slab drops, deco crystals, tear drops, unusual cut crystals and is finished off with a large faceted ball. This is a truly wonderful chandelier.
