Description
An exceptional large French giltwood mirror, dating from the 19th century, featuring refined neoclassical detailing and exquisite decorative flourishes. The design is crowned with a plain cornice, beneath which lies a frieze adorned with a high-relief garland of roses, gracefully suspended from a central bow. Below this, an oval hand-painted panel depicts a romantic Watteau-style pastoral scene featuring a maiden accompanied by playful cherubs - delicately signed by the artist A.Coudeph. The mirror plate is framed by a finely carved acanthus leaf and beaded border, reflecting the elegance and craftsmanship typical of the period. A beautifully balanced statement piece, ideal for grand interiors or refined hallway settings.
