Large Chinese Imari Charger in Traditional Colours c.1750

This beautiful example of a Chinese charger finely hand painted in traditional Imari palette featuring peonies blossoms and finished with a scalloped rim. Dating from the Qing period Imperial Dynasty of China Chinese ceramics feature much brighter colours and have a fully transparent, shiny glaze (the result of firing at extremely high temperatures) which showcases the brightness of the colours. By comparison, Japanese pieces are heavier with a matte glaze and a more natural, 'earthy' palette. A stunning piece of Chinese history ready to display.
