Description
This is a large finely carved Victorian oak monk’s bench. The folding top with carved edge with exceptional foliate carved panels supported on a scrolled arm on bobbin supports. The large seat with decorative external metal hinges opens to a large storage space. The bench paneled front with Jacobean-style lozenge carvings and the side with twin panels all on styled feet. Large size and exceptional quality carving and lovely patina.
