Description
This is a large old original Indian painting of a Procession or Festival highly detailed and Framed. Painted on either silk or cotton (more likely to be silk with the very fine detail, see images), framed and glazed.
An unusual large size for this type of art work with incredible detail to buildings, faces and costumes.
This is well executed piece with strong vibrant colours and done to a higher standard than many similar types of indian paintings

Painting itself is approx 35 inches wide & 16 inches high, frame is approx 42 inches x 23.5 inches.
declaration
Elder Books & Collectables has clarified that the Large Framed Indian Painting on Silk c.1930 (LA207939) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1930
condition
A few minor surface cracks and small areas with a minor abrasion or chip to painting indicating some age, few knocks to frame with a small replacement piece to bottom middle of frame.
