Large Gaudy Welsh Ironstone China Hydra Jug

A beautiful Ironstone china jug with hydra handle, decorated in the Imari palette. Marked ‘Ironstone China’ to the base, and standing 21cm high. A very decorative large ironstone jug in the Mason’s style, with a beautifully detailed ‘hydra’ handle. This jug dates from the first half of the 19th century, we believe c1825. The colours are bright and bold, and this jug would look wonderful with an equally extravagant bouquet of flowers in it. There is a hairline crack through the handle, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the structure of the handle. There are no other chips or cracks.
