Description
A large, charming and fine quality late 19th century BRONZE SCULPTURE from the Meiji period.
It depicts a young boy, standing with bamboo stick, feeding chicks in a nest which he holds in his left hand. Well detailed and particularly well observed; the boy’s face is a delight. Quite large, 17ins (43cms) high. Signed to the base.
