This is a late Georgian, English, half wrythen-moulded dwarf ale glass dating from the beginning of the19th century, c1820. The glass is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the foot which is nicely striated. The glass has a funnel-shaped bowl measuring 6.3 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is wrythen flute-moulded to the lower half and sits on a capstan stem with a medial angular knop. The stem leads to a conical foot which measures 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter. The glass is 13.5 cm (5.4 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. It is made from English lead metal weighing in at 124 g. (~ 4 1/4 oz.).
