Description
A magnificent large Victorian Sheffield folding fruit knife by John Oxley.
Features beautifully shaped genuine mother-of-pearl scales displaying vivid iridescent colours, richly hand-decorated with leaf and scroll motifs.
The hallmarked sterling silver blade is embellished with bright-cut engraving along the upper edge on both sides. Brass liners and decorative filework along the spine.
Supplied in a presentation box, suitable for display or gifting.

Good overall condition with light wear and minor nibbles to the mother-of-pearl scale near the joint. The blade has a positive half-stop at 90° and a firm open position at 180°, closes with a gentle snap, and has no blade wobble.
