Description
Crafted on the beautiful Island of Malta in the Southern Mediterranean, this early example of Mdina Glass in an Aladdin's Lamp shaped dish. Reflecting the sea colours in blues and greens, this charming vintage piece is both decorative and practical.
Mdina Glass was founded by Michael Harris and Eric Dobson in 1968. Named after the famed Silent City of Mdina, the glass quickly became popular and is still the best known of the Maltese Glass Factories. Harris left Malta in 1972 and went on to open the famous Isle of Wight Studio in the UK, returning to Malta in 1989 to open Gozo Glass on Malta's sister Island.
