Military Award Barometer

A most interesting late Victorian aneroid barometer, Quite rare now, these instruments were originally designed as awards for shooting excellence within the British armed forces in the 19th century. The polished oak case is authentically carved in the style of a medieval army tent (see painting) with 19th century period rifles and army helmets. The dial has been faithfully restored from the original which includes the curved thermometer around the base.
