ANTIQUE JEWELLERY, FURNITURE AND OBJECTS CURATED BY CONSERVATION AND GEMMOLOGY SPECIALISTS IN GUERNSEY AND LONDON
After years immersed in the dynamic world of London’s antique scene, we felt a call to return to Guernsey, to a quieter, more reflective place where we could cultivate our own vision. Our approach is founded on a deep respect for the history and craftsmanship of each item we encounter, but also an understanding that the antique world must evolve to remain relevant in today’s ever-changing landscape. We are committed to bringing both knowledge and passion to every interaction, ensuring that our clients are as informed as they are inspired by the pieces they acquire.
'Terrou' is the Guernésiais word for 'Always' - a word which resonated strongly with us. We believe antiques should be both appreciated for their heritage and embraced for their ability to contribute to the beauty and functionality of modern life. Our collection represents not only the history of fine jewellery and furniture but also a bridge between past and present. We work with clients to help them see that antiques are not merely relics of the past but treasures that can compliment and enhance the spaces and lives of today.
At the heart of our mission is the desire to make the antique world more accessible and approachable, while preserving the standards of knowledge, care, and expertise that have defined it for centuries.
We invite you to explore our collection, where tradition meets innovation, and where every piece tells a story.

Description
A finely crafted miniature mahogany pedestal table, likely produced as a cabinetmaker's demonstration piece or workshop model during the late 19th century.
The circular top is decorated with an intricate compass star inlay composed of satinwood and contrasting figured veneers, carefully arranged to create a striking radiating pattern. The precision of the geometric inlay showcases advanced veneering and marquetry skills, with each segment individually cut and fitted.
The top is supported by a faceted pedestal raised on a tripod base terminating in turned bun feet. The piece displays excellent proportions and craftsmanship throughout, with a rich aged patina to the mahogany and pleasing surface wear consistent with age.
Miniature furniture of this quality was often created by cabinetmakers to demonstrate mastery of joinery, veneering, and decorative techniques. While frequently referred to as apprentice pieces, such works were also produced by journeymen and professional craftsmen as examples of their skill.
A charming and unusual object that functions equally well as a collector's piece, decorative accent, or study in traditional cabinetmaking.
