ANTIQUE JEWELLERY, FURNITURE AND OBJECTS CURATED BY CONSERVATION AND GEMMOLOGY SPECIALISTS IN GUERNSEY AND LONDON
After years immersed in the dynamic world of London’s antique scene, we felt a call to return to Guernsey, to a quieter, more reflective place where we could cultivate our own vision. Our approach is founded on a deep respect for the history and craftsmanship of each item we encounter, but also an understanding that the antique world must evolve to remain relevant in today’s ever-changing landscape. We are committed to bringing both knowledge and passion to every interaction, ensuring that our clients are as informed as they are inspired by the pieces they acquire.
'Terrou' is the Guernésiais word for 'Always' - a word which resonated strongly with us. We believe antiques should be both appreciated for their heritage and embraced for their ability to contribute to the beauty and functionality of modern life. Our collection represents not only the history of fine jewellery and furniture but also a bridge between past and present. We work with clients to help them see that antiques are not merely relics of the past but treasures that can compliment and enhance the spaces and lives of today.
At the heart of our mission is the desire to make the antique world more accessible and approachable, while preserving the standards of knowledge, care, and expertise that have defined it for centuries.
We invite you to explore our collection, where tradition meets innovation, and where every piece tells a story.

Description
A handsome and increasingly sought-after Regency hall chair in solid mahogany, stamped WILKINSON, LUDGATE HILL to the seat rail. Elegant in both form and proportion, the chair displays many of the hallmarks of the Regency taste for classical ornament and refined craftsmanship.
The waisted back is surmounted by distinctive scrolled ears and centred by an incised oval reserve, beneath which sits a finely carved fan motif, a decorative detail inspired by classical design. The generously proportioned solid mahogany seat retains a rich colour and patina developed over nearly two centuries of use.
The chair stands on turned front legs and outswept rear sabre legs, creating a pleasing sense of movement and balance. The quality of the timber and crispness of the carving speak to the standards of one of London’s most respected cabinet-making firms.
The stamp for Wilkinson of Ludgate Hill firmly anchors the piece to an important London maker. The firm occupied premises on Ludgate Hill during the late Georgian and Regency period and supplied fashionable furniture to an affluent clientele, producing pieces that combined practical function with restrained elegance.
Originally intended for use in an entrance hall, where hall chairs served both a practical and decorative purpose, examples such as this work beautifully in contemporary interiors. Equally at home in a hallway, bedroom, dressing room or as an accent piece, it offers an effortless way to introduce character, history and craftsmanship into a modern space.
A particularly appealing Regency chair with excellent decorative presence, desirable maker’s mark, and timeless versatility.
