Pair of Ercol Chairmaker Chairs 472, Available Individually

We have two of these fabulous Ercol Chairmaker chairs in the 472 design. They are listed here priced as a pair, but can be sold individually if you contact us. Originally designed in the 1960s, these continued in production until the 1980s, with minor changes. Showcasing the craftsmanship for which Ercol is known, these are based on traditional Windsor chairs and have wide, comfortable seats, ideal for a country kitchen, or a cottage fireside. - Large, saddle seats. - Simple, sculptural splat. - Upturned armrests. - H stretcher. - Visible joints, showcasing the craftsmanship put into their construction. - Metal studs at the top of the back, designed to take a popper for a back cushion. - Gold Ercol label under the seats, marked with the model design 472 and the year 1980. - Lovely blond colour, ideal for a mid century interior design. In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There is some minor wear around the leg bottoms, as usual for chairs which have been used. One of the arms has a lighter colour from regular rubbing.
