A very elegant pair of late Victorian hand blown silver mounted claret jugs hallmarked in Chester in 1899 with their original glass stoppers. The jugs are tall and slender with tall stoppers which mirror the slight swirling design of the jugs themselves. The jugs are also embellished with an engraved cut glass vertical reeded pattern to the bottom half. The base is plain. The silver mounts on both jugs are clearly hallmarked. A very attractive pair of silver and glass claret jugs.
