Description
Fine quality drawing of a farmer and his wife, by their cottage and animals. I purchased this drawing in Scotland from Harry Woolford, the restorer to the Scottish National Gallery in the late 1980s. So far the authorship of the work has eluded me, but it's a first rate hand. It has the feel of being a preliminary work for a woodblock or possibly an oil. Good research project. The Maple frame makes the picture come to life.
