Pocket Watch: Antique Waltham Riverside Pocket Watch 1902

The watch has a good quality 17-jewel stem-winding movement, Riverside grade, which is working nicely. This is a good quality movement with a Church 1892 patent regulator, screw-set jewels and Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 12,087,901 dates it back to 1902. The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The watch has a heavy 2oz silver case and is hallmarked inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1919, with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, an English manufacturer and supplier of cases to Waltham UK. The discrepancy in dates suggests the case and movement have been put together at some stage… this was often done as a more economical repair. Happily everything is pretty much as it would have been originally. The signed dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute track.
