Pocket Watch Chain Fob Silver 1926 Antique Stafford County Athletics Association

Gentleman's antique sterling silver (fully hallmarked) and multi coloured enamel pocket watch chain large chunky sporting fob. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph. Measures; 4.4cm height (including the top ring), 3cm width and weighs a respectable 8.2 grams. Wonderful circular shaped chunky fob (with ornate scrollwork to top) which is beautifully stamped around the front in silver lettering set upon a Royal blue enamel background; Staffordshire County Amat. A. A. (Staffordshire Country Amateaur Athletics Association) and carries to centre a slightly raised shield cartouche in Cardinal red guilloche enamel depicting the Staffordshire Coat Of Arms. The back is beautifully stamped in arched script; 1. Mile Medley Relay Champ 24TH June 1926 - interestingly not engraved with the winners' names (perhaps they are still running!) Clearly hallmarked to base (within different shaped recessed cartouches) with the Lion Passant (Sterling silver), anchor (Birmingham assay) and fancy capital letter; B - dating to 1926. Also carries the makers initials (again within a recessed cartouche); F&S and is again stamped to top with the makers name; Fattorini & Sons Bradford. Robust original silver top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear or damage (enamel in in perfect order) and just a tiny bit of very light overall patina commensurate with age.
