Pocket Watch Chain Fob Sterling Silver 1909 Antique Wellingborough Whist League

English sterling silver (fully hallmarked), rose gilt and red enamel antique large chunky fob for a Gentleman's pocket watch chain which was given to the winner of the 'Wellingborough Whist League' in 1909. C~ Hallmarked 1909. Measures; 4.6cm height (including the top ring), 3.2cm wide and weighs a heavy 17.1 grams. Large and highly detailed chunky 'snowflake' shield fob which features to the front a raised rose gilt plaque featuring a Gentleman's hand to centre expectantly holding a suite of playing cards set upon a Cardinal red enamel background. The back is smooth, highly polished and is clearly engraved in slightly arched script; WELLINGBORO' & DIST WHIST LEAGUE WINNERS 1909 S. PERKINS Clearly hallmarked (within different shaped, recessed cartouches) with the Lion passant (Sterling silver), Anchor (Birmingham assay) and lowercase fancy letter; k - dating to 1909. Also stamped with the makers initials (again within a fancy, recessed cartouche); V&S. Secure silver top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with just a tiny bit of enamel wear and few fine little surface scratches commensurate with age.
