Masonic Pocket Watch Chain Fob Sterling Silver 1938 RAOB Large Enamel Fob

Fabulous Masonic Gentleman's Antique Sterling silver (fully hallmarked) and Royal blue enamel pocket watch chain large chunky 'Royal Antediluvian Order Of Buffaloes' fob. C~1938. Measures; 4.9cm height (including the top ring), 3.5cm width and weighs a highly respectable 12.1 grams. Wonderful fancy shield shaped fob which is beautifully adorned to the front with two raised un-engraved banner cartouches and acanthus leaves to top and bottom upon which is sat a slightly raised, rolled gold circular shaped cartouche holding to centre a highly detailed buffalo's head with ruby coloured eyes. Around this is stamped in gold script (within a Victorian buckle style cartouche) upon a Royal blue enamel background (no damage or chipping); NEMO MORTALIUM OMNIBUS HORIS SAPIT (Latin- no mortal is wise at all times). The back is clearly inscribed; Pres to BRO F.E. RALPH 1938 Fully stamped to base within an oblong shaped, recessed cartouche; STG.SIL (Sterling Silver) and carries the makers name (again within an oblong shaped, recessed cartouche): MELDRUM. Large robust Sterling silver top ring (carries the Lion passant to one side) to attach to a Masonic Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear or damage (totally crisp - looks to have had very little use) and just a tiny bit of overall patina and fine little surface scratches commensurate with age.
