Pocket Watch Chain Photograph Fob 1881 Antique French 10ct Rose Rolled Gold

Victorian Gentleman's 10ct rose rolled gold (stamped and professionally tested) large and highly impressive French Antique photograph fob. C ~ Dated 1881. (Please excuse all the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph). Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. Measures; 5cm height (including the top ring), 3.5cm width, 7mm depth and weighs a very respectable 12.9 grams. Wonderful oval shaped chunky fob with an attractive chamfered circumference (same to both sides). Stamped to the top on one side in arched script; ROLLED GOLD and stamped to the opposite side; FIX EE 81 (Fix was a French jewellery quality standard to indicate the superior quality of the rolled gold) and 81 is the date it was made - 1881. To centre are two oval shaped compartments (one is lined with bottle green baize) to display photographs of loved ones - I will include the original Victorian sepia photographs of two Gentleman who were shown within - one of which is wearing Military uniform and the younger man in a white starched shirt. Still retains the two original thick bevel edges glasses (not acrylic). The wide internal retaining ring is clearly stamped; PATENT (the Victorian's loved their patents), METAL GILT. Secure rolled gold top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with just some very light overall wear/patina and little surface scratches commensurate with age.
