Description
A rare early Worcester porcelain leaf shaped pickle tray, very finely potted, and painted in the two-peony rock bird pattern. Workman's mark to the underside, c.1754-1760. Reference: Worcester Blue & White Porcelain 1751-1790, Branyan, French & Sandon, section I.C.10. The pattern is described as uncommon, and only found on pickle dishes, either of scallop shell shape, and more rarely of this leaf form.

Condition is excellent. There is a 1mm nick in the glaze to the underside of the rim but no other damage, repair or restoration, and minimal handling wear.
