Rare George V Chester Silver Pocket Tape Measure

A rare pocket sized silver cased tape measure of excellent quality, dating from the reign of George V and assayed at the sought after Chester Office. The casing is elegantly understated, free from engraving and very tactile. The tape pivots on a central pin and is of sprung steel. It works via a ratchet system and once pulled will remain extended until the release button is actioned. On pressing, the tape can be retracted back into the body. The tape itself is 99cm / 36 inches in length and is printed with both imperial and metric measurements. A superb and very desirable item, still useable today.
