This unusual William IV solid silver and red banded agate snuff box was made by the renowned Edward Smith and is dated Birmingham 1833. Of rectangular form, the cover set with an agate panel. The hinged cover with a simple thumb-piece opening to reveal the original gilt interior. The back and sides plain. Hallmarks: E.S for Edward Smith. Birmingham Assay Mark. Date letter "K" for 1833.
