Regency Burr Yew & Burr Elm Writing Slope With Brass Inlay. A superb example of a truly wonderful regency brassbound and brass inlaid writing slope in Burr Yew, Burr Elm and Ebony with brass Militery style handles to the sides. The writing slope dates back to c.1820 it features a fully working lock and tasselled key. The box houses a green leather writing surface, a nib slope, a lidded pen compartment a lidded nib compartment and two Sheffield plated inkwells. The back of the inside lid acts as extra storage space for letters and paperwork. Lift up the writing surface to reveal secret drawers and more space for paper work. The box measures 51x26 and stands 16cm high.
