Regency Painted & Parcel Gilt Overmantel Mirror

This is a very attractive 19th Century Regency period (1820) antique overmantel mirror that has a most decorative appearance with beautiful original water gilded detail to the piece. The central sylvan scene of dancing maidens in a garden setting are flanked by Doric columns with figures in the panels above holding doves and a harp. The two side mirrors frame a central circular mirror with sunburst design and a beautiful water gilded garland surround. The projecting cornice is again elegantly highlighted with water gilded ball detail. The three mirrors are the original mercury plates which are in excellent clean condition. A very handsome piece in lovely original order and extremely rare to find from this period.
