Regency Walnut and Ebony Sarcophagus Tea Caddy, c.1830

A handsome English tea caddy in richly figured walnut with ebonised mouldings and stepped sarcophagus lid, circa 1825–1840. The fitted interior has two canister wells and a central circular recess for a mixing bowl, the classic three-part arrangement used for storing and blending precious teas in the early 19th century. Original lock and brass hinges present. Condition: Good antique condition with the expected small knocks and age lines to veneer and ebonised edges. The internal lift-out lid, glass bowl and key are absent; felt to the central well and base lining are worn and can be replaced on request. Dimensions: 34 cm wide x 18.5 cm deep x 19 cm high. A decorative and usable piece of Regency design, perfect for a sideboard or tea collection.
