Royal Torquay Pottery Dimpled Pot Blue with Birds & Motto

A charming glazed stoneware bowl with dimpled sides and wavy rim, featuring in relief a pair of hand painted birds on a branch and a motto 'The mind that makes the body' on a dark blue background with red terracotta rim and interior. Made during the first half of the 20th century in Devon, England, makers mark for Royal Torquay Pottery, who operated between 1905 - 1940.
