Description
An interesting set of 6 military lithographs, ca 1830s, by Victor Adam (1801-1866). They feature different types of French military personnel, including Lancers, Artillery Officers, Army Surgeons etc.
Victor Adam was a French painter and lithographer who attended the École des Beaux Arts from 1814-18 and exhibited mainly between 1819-38. He did paintings of military battles for the Museum of Versailles. He then re-emerged as a lithographer in 1846. His publisher, Delaunay’s, was active in 1830s-40s. Both names appear on the prints themselves.
