Set of 8 Japanese Botanical Prints by Kônan

A set of 8 Japanese botanical woodblock prints by Tanigami Kônan, published about 1910. Tanigami Kônan was a Japanese painter and botanical illustrator, considered a master of "kachō -e" (flower and bird painting). He blended traditional Japanese woodblock techniques with Western botanical illustration and published a series of illustrated albums depicting Western plants in early 20th century. We have 4 prints of orchids: Dendrobium, Cymbidium, Oncidium and Laelia Anceps plus 4 other plants viz: Geranium, Cineralia, Gerbera and Primula. We could sell individually if required - please enquire. The plants are all identified in Japanese on the print- usually right hand side.
