Staffordshire Flatback of Field Marshal Sir Colin Campbell

Offered for sale is a predominately white flatback mantle figure of Field Marshal Sir Colin Campbell in full regalia astride his horse. The figure is decorated in a simple palette with light flecks of gilding. From humble beginnings, Field Marshal Sir Colin Campbell rose to lead the Highland Brigade in the Crimean War and was in command of the 'Thin Red Line' at the Battle of Balaklava. He was later commander-in-chief in India and led a relief army with great distinction during the Indian Mutiny of 1857.
