A rather fine etching of Tower Bridge, with the Tower of London in the background and all the heavy congestion of traffic on the Thames, ca 1920. There are some nice details, such as the smoke from one of the steamers partially obscuring the bridge and the small rowing boats somewhat perilously ferrying people from the steamers to the shore. SC Rowles studied at Royal College of Art from 1905-11 and later became Headmaster of West Bromwich Municipal School of Art. He later moved to London and exhibited at Walker Art Gallery and Royal Academy.
