Description
A beautiful Worcester circular dish / shallow bowl with their stunning mirror finish "wet" blue, or gros bleu, ground, reserving a large central circle boldly painted with a pair of "fancy" birds in a simple landscape with berried tree and a scattering of birds up in the sky. Striking raised gilt decoration framing the reserve and radiating into the blue ground with scrolls, arabesques and graduated dashes. Gilt rim and blue crescent mark to the base, c.1770.

condition
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. There is a firing fault line in the glaze which can be seen on the reverse, appearing only under close inspection as a short fine scratch to the front below the grass and a fine craze line to the side. Minimal handling wear to enamels or gilding, a stunning example.
