Superb French Walnut Armchair Silk Upholstered

This is a fabulous French carved walnut armchair beautifully upholstered in silk brocade dating from around 1900. The chair has been meticulously and very skilfully hand made to an incredible standard. It has a very heavy hardwood frame, with absolutely no give and tight joints and a show frame in intricately carved solid walnut. The design is very eye catching with sweeping curves and carved floral knop hand rests which clearly reflect the changing fashions of the times. It is upholstered in a shell pink silk brocade and has deep buttoning to the back and a separate thick squab cushion, feather filled, making a most comfortable seat. The upholstery is to a standard difficult to find these days and wonderfully has had little use as it is in excellent condition throughout, with no wear or fading at all. This amazing armchair is actually part of a suite of upholstered furniture we currently have in stock, shown here in the last photograph. The suite includes four armchairs, a beautiful sofa, all in superb condition. There is also a walnut coffee table with the same quirky carved walnut knops. This listing is for the purchase of this one armchair only. The chair measures 72 cms high by 87 cms wide by 90 deep overall.
