This is a tall pair of antique brush pots. A Chinese, hand-carved bamboo bitong or flower vase, dating to the late 19th Century period, circa 1880. Fascinating bitong, or traditionally carved brush pots - ideal for dry flower arrangements displaying a desirable aged patina, in good original order. Skilfully carved with an abundance of detail, the bamboo presents bright caramel hues. The scenes depict merchants within a bamboo forest, further decorated with pavilions. Excellent examples of Chinese craftsmanship of the late Qing dynasty. This is a charming and decorative pair of antique dry flower vases, useful as brush pots in the bitong tradition.
