The King That Never Was Edward VIII Coronation Coin Goblet 1937

This is a large Edward VIII engraved glass goblet. It has a bell bowl engraved with a crown, rose and Edward VIII coronation May 12 1937. It has a hollow ball knop containing a silver three pence coin dated 1937 depicting Edward VIII. Conical folded foot. This glass was made to celebrate the coronation of Edward Viii known as "The King That Never Was". He was never crowned and abdicated prior to his coronation. Date & Origin:- England, c1937. Edward VIII Comments:- This glass comes from the Michael Wallis collection which took over 45 years to build and contains over 250 drinking glasses, covering all forms from the 18th century, many exceptionally rare.
