Ting-Tang, W&H Mahogany Mantel / Bracket Clock
A wonderfully fine example of a period mahogany mantel clock by the World renowned maker WINTERHALDER & HOFFMEIRE. The clock strikes the quarters with a double "ting-tang", and the number of hours on the hour. The 8 day movement has just been fully overhauled by our BHI registered staff and carries our usual 12mths full parts and labour guarantee. The arched brass dial has a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and inter-spaced fluer-de-lys with gilt spandrels and matted centre. There are rise-and-fall and STRIKE/SILENT subsidiary dials to the arch. The arched, brass opening door has nice thick glass and a silvered site ring. The mahogany case retains it's original French-polished finish and has a beautiful warm, rich patina. It has a brass carrying handle to the top and fish-scale sound frets to the sides. It stands on 4 brass bracket feet. A real gem of a clock. All cards accepted.
