Tree of Life Antique Prayer Rug

This is a stunning Persian prayer rug dating from the early 20th Century. The rug is exceptionally finely woven in very soft fine wool and has a wonderful stylised tree of life design. The creamy white field with large indigo tree containing boteh and featuring a warm red and lush green. This is flanked by dove grey upper spandrels, also with boteh. The design is enclosed by indigo boteh borders, flanked by carnation and sawtooth guard stripes.
