Victorian Brass 'Signature' Blotter & Document Folio

This heavy leather and brass mounted; 'documents for signature', blotter and combined document folio harks back to a period when business correspondence was typed from by a Pa, secretary or in larger companies in a typing pool. When complete the typed document was presented back to the author (or their secretary) in a folder like this for; review and signature, before being returned to the correspondence manager, logged and passed for; posting, internal distribution or if vital delivery by hand to the recipient. Different times indeed! That said, this folio with its heavy brass frontispiece and black leather covers still have a role in some; offices, traditions and even when important documents have a ceremonial signing. Despite being an antique there are many occasions in public life where this style of folio may take 'centre' stage and add gravitas to an event or occassion.
