Victorian Mahogany Two-part Brass Bound Military Chest

Mid 19th Century (c.1860) Victorian antique mahogany two-part brass bound military chest, with rectangular top with cast brass quarter brackets and a brass band in the centre, with a configuration of two drawers over three variable sized full-length drawers, the top right-hand drawer retains the original Bramah lock and opens to a secretaire drawer with a tooled gilded leather insert, bordered in burr walnut with a lift out slide, behind which reveals various pigeonhole drawers and a full-length drawer, all the drawers have flush brass military handles and simple escutcheons, with a brass strapping on each fore-edge, the chest comes two pieces, the bottom section rests on four elegant tulip bun feet.
