Crafted from solid oak, the chair has a distinctive fan-shaped carved crest rail, turned spindle arm supports and gently shaped legs. The front legs retain castors, a practical detail typical of period upholstered seating. The chair has a low, deep seating position, reflecting its original use as a traditional Victorian nursing chair. The upholstered seat and back are finished in a rich blue fabric, providing an attractive contrast with the warm oak frame.
