Victorian Rosewood Gentlemen’s Vaniety Box.
A superb rosewood brassbound gentleman’s Vaniety box, dating back to c.1840.
The box features a brass key escutcheon with a fully working lock and teaselled key. There is a name plate to the top with the name “John Barlout”
To access the front drawer push the drawer in to activate the spring it helps if you open the drawer at the same time, to close it push down the brass button to the inside. The drawer features several sections which was once filled with men’s Vaniety tools. We have relined the interior with handcrafted marble paper. The back of the box has a lowered section.
The perfect Gentleman’s box in wonderful condition.
The box measures 31 x 22 and stands 11cm high.
