A splendid mid-Victorian period kidney shaped writing table, or desk. Of very good construction with beautiful rosewood veneers onto a mahogany carcas. The top surrounded by brass banding and surmounted with a pierced fret-work brass gallery. With a sumptuous black leather writing surface finished with gilt tooling. With a single drawer to the freeze (lockable, key supplied) and standing on elegant out-swept cabriole legs. Fitted with crisply cast ormolu mounts throughout, including to the rear.
