Victorian Walnut & Inlaid Jewellery / Sewing Box

A good late 19th Century (c.1880) Victorian antique walnut jewellery / sewing box, the top and front inlaid with wide geometric marquetry bands, the top with central mother of pearl cartouche surrounded by further inlays, the front with matching keyhole escutcheon. The box opens to reveal the original fitted interior lined with purple satin fabric, the lift-out tray revealing further storage beneath. The box has been cleaned and professionally French polished and is in showroom condition. It has a working lock and tasselled key.
