An absolutely stunning classic trilogy diamond set twist ring crafted from sturdy 18ct gold with a platinum mount. Beautifully detailed this is sure to bring a smile to your face. Lovely flush trilogy design with an Art Nouveau twist mount. Fully assay marked Birmingham UK. The original hallmark was worn beyond recognition so this ring was sent off to be re-assayed. Dates to middle part of the 20th Century c1970s. In olden times the alloying of gold left it too soft to mount stones in effectively. For this reason other metals were used to provide a more secure setting - in this instance platinum. In excellent condition ready to wear. Main Stones: 3 x round cut natural white diamonds. Ice white and loupe clean. Width across setting is 7 mm. Depth of setting is 5mm. Width at rear is 1.8 mm. UK Size is M 1/2. US size is 6.5.
