Vintage Agme Carene Jewelled Musical Powder Compact Circa 1950

Offered for sale is this delightful vintage Carene musical powder compact dating circa 1950 and measuring 8 cm by 6 cm. The case is made of brushed and glossy polished gold tone metal with machine turned linear pattern to the base. The lid has another fine machine turned pattern has little gold flowers all over the lid accented with cut and faceted red glass stones. The case has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a shiny and clean gold tone metal interior with framed perfectly clear and reflective glass mirror under the lid. The frame around the mirror is marked Agme Made in Switzerland. The powder well in the base is covered by a hinged door and is engraved with a treble clef and musical clef. This door opens and closes securely and opens to access the powder well beneath that is empty of powder and retains the original sifter and Carene marked puff. Next to the powder well is the musical movement which is in good working order.
