Description
On offer is this rare figural powder compact by Elizabeth Arden dating circa 1940. The compact measures 7.5 cm by 4.5 cm and is in the form of a harlequin mask made of gold tone metal. The base is stamped Elizabeth Arden New York Made in USA.
The case has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a deep powder well in the base which is empty of powder and retains the original sifter. Under the lid is a framed mirror which is clear and reflective.
Offered in good condition with normal age and usage marks. The gold tone metal has no tarnish but does have signs of use and surface scratches. The case has no dents or dings and all in all, this rare compact displays very well.
